The Called

Galatians 1:10
"For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond servant of Christ."

When you step out in faith to follow the calling or vision that God has given you, you should expect attack. The attack can come in the form of critism from friends, family, your church, etc.

Plan to forgive them. Make a conscience choice to love them and let it go. God spoke to you, not to them. They cannot, they do not understand. It may seem irrational to others. It may seem like total lunacy. You must remember that you heard His voice, they did not.

Satan can ensnare you if you succumb to depression, bitterness or anger. You can become entangled in a battle that is not yours to fight. Rise above it and move forward.

Ask yourself these questions:
Am I seeking the favor of men or of God?
Am I striving to please men?

When God calls you to a vision, you must understand that you will be like a fish swimming up stream, against the current. The struggle strengthens you.

When you become weary, rest in Him. He is your refuge and strong tower. He will refresh and renew you for the challenge ahead.

His timing...

We are so excited to announce that construction has begun on a church at El Paraiso. This project is very close to our hearts. El Paraiso is a very remote community that was built after the mudslides and hurricane Mitch in 1998. There are around 90 families that live there, approximately 400 people. It is 1 1/2 hours from Leon, out a very rocky dirt road. The unemployment rate for that area is over 90%. The church we are building is the only one in the area! This is such an answered prayer.

The church will be built in phases, as money allows. It is a collaberative effort of Faith Promise Church, Cades Cove Baptist Fellowship Church and many individual donations. Our plan is to use the structure for many purposes. A feeding center, a training center, and an emergency shelter for the area. God's timing is perfect!

Please pray for the team from Cades Cove Baptist Fellowship as they come to serve and to build next week. Pray that the men and women in the community are encouraged and see God's hand at work. Pray that we serve with heart's of compassion. Pray that His desires are evident and that we a sensitive to His urging.

Muchas gracias! Dios le bendiga!

Back in the saddle again...

We arrived safely at our home in Leon, Nicaragua, in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday. It was 2:30 A.M local time and our neighbor, Sandra Barnum, was sitting on her porch, awaiting our arrival. Such a pleasant surprise! God has surely blessed us with friends that share our enthusiasm and joy to serve the people of Nicaragua!
I awoke this morning to our pet bird, Pedro, on my pillow. He must be happy that we are home because he will not leave my side. He had come out of his cage and walked to our room and pulled himself up on the bed with the sheet. Smart bird!
Thanks to Cheryl Spence and Patzy Baldolemar, both babies have grown and flourished. God is so good to provide exactly what you need, when you need it. Milagros is sitting alone for a minute at a time and she is eating everything she can get in her little mouth! Before we know it, she will walk and talk, in Jesus name! Anexa is much more flexible and has grown at least a couple of inches. She is such a pleasant, happy baby girl.
This morning was filled with errands that had to be accomplished. Fed and bathed both babies, administered their medicines. Then after family devotions and breakfast, Patzy and I walked to the place that I purchased the washing machine and requested a repairman to come. Then on to the supermarket because our cupboards were bare!
This afternoon, Jonah, Daniel, Caleb and Josh begin carpentry classes. They are going to learn skills that they can teach others, eventually. David is assisting in the class. I will prepare for my ESL class tonight. Can't wait to see my students again and hear about their past few weeks.

Many thanks to those of you who pray and support our ministry. We love each and everyone of you. Matthew 25:40 says this: "Truly I say to you, to the extenet that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me."

Con muchas amor,
Tamara Price
